NNU Outdoors Club helps students get the most out of a unique location

May 23, 2014

Part of what makes Idaho an amazing location is its wealth of opportunity for outdoor pursuits. With a thriving Outdoors Club housed right in our student center, NNU students are able to avail themselves of all the awesome places to go and things to do within a short driving distance.

Whether it’s renting snowshoes or skis to make trails through Bogus Basin or getting harnesses and ropes for a rock climbing adventure, there tons of opportunities to get out and get wild in our beautiful Northwest landscape. Below is a video some of our students made on a trip to climb Moab in Utah (again, our Outdoors Club rocks!).

White water rafting during the spring and summer is just an hour up the highway. Beautiful hikes into canyons, over fields, up mountains and through forests are also within minutes. Skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing are in plenty at a number of ski resorts within 70 miles or less. Check out the links above to see NNU students out with our Outdoors Club enjoying all our location has to offer!

Many of these opportunities are incredibly affordable for students, whose student fees are the main source of funding for student groups and clubs at NNU. Whether you've got a wealth of experience in outdoor pursuits or are interested in just getting started, our campus is ready to help you enjoy all that the Northwest has to offer!

The Heart of the Boise Valley

We believe that students travel to the Northwest to be changed forever by a rigorous education. Because of its proximity to both Idaho wilderness and metropolitan Boise, Northwest Nazarene University truly is the best-of-all-worlds location for college students.
